REQUIREMENTS FOR
GETTING MARRIED IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
- Valid passport.*
- Original Birth Certificate (two
photocopies to be sent to our office).
- Notarized Single Status Affidavit for each
one (original and one copy to be sent to our office).
- If previously married, copy of legalized/sealed
Divorce Act or Death Certificate (two copies to be sent to our office).**
There is a mandatory 10 months waiting period, for women, after divorced for re-marrying.
- Certificate adoption, if applicable (send two copies to our office).
- Parental authorization, if applicable (send two copies to our office).
- Passport photocopies of the witnesses (if you do not have witnesses,
hotel/resort will provide them).
*
These documents, except for passport or photo ID and witnesses information, must be translated into Spanish and legalized by the Dominican Consulate before arriving to the Dominican Republic. It is the couple’s responsibility to have all the required documentation before the wedding date.

For minors traveling to and from the Dominican Republic without their parents, you will need the following:
A notarized letter from the child's parent(s), authorizing travel to and-or from the Dominican Republic with accompayning adult's name as appears on passport.
THE CONSENT LETTER FOR MINORS TRAVELING WITHOUT THEIR PARENTS SHOULD READ AS FOLLOWS:
"I, [YOUR NAME AS APPEARS IN YOUR PASSPORT, CITIZENSHIP, AND PASSPORT NUMBER] HEREBY AUTHORIZE MY CHILD (CHILDREN) [NAME(S) AND PASSPORTS NUMBER(S)] TO TRAVEL FROM THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC TO [DESTINATION COUNTRY] WITH [ACCOMPANYING ADULT'S NAME AND PASSPORT NUMBER], ON [DATE OF TRAVEL]."
YOUR SIGNATURE, NOTARIZED PLEASE
You will send that notarized consent to us, with a photocopy of the child’s passport; a photocopy of the authorizing parent(s) passport, and a photocopy of the accompayning adult's passport, also, 2 pictures of the child, (can be school pictures). We will send back to you a translation, certified by the Dominican Consulate, to be presented to the airport authorities in the Dominican Republic.

DOCUMENTS TO BE SENT TO "WE DO", FOR TRANSLATION AND/OR CONSULAR
LEGALIZATION:
- Original and one copy of Single Status Affidavit, notarized
(Bride and Groom).
- Two photocopies of birth certificate (Bride and Groom).
IF PARENTS NAMES ARE NOT SHOWN ON THE BIRTH CERTIFICATES, PLEASE
INDICATE THEM SEPARATELY FOR US.
- One photocopy of passport* or drivers license (Bride and Groom).
- If previously married, two copies of divorce decree. THERE IS A
MANDATORY 10 MONTHS WAITING PERIOD, FOR WOMEN, AFTER DIVORCED.
- Name of resort/hotel where the wedding will be celebrated, date
of the wedding, name of Wedding Coordinator.
PLEASE, ALSO INCLUDE:
- Money order for the corresponding amount.
- Self stamped/addressed envelope or prepaid courrier (FEDEX, DHL,
UPS, etc.) for the return of the documentation.
Legal translations of your documents
are prepared at our office.
DO NOT HAVE DOCUMENTS PREVIOUSLY TRANSLATED.

You will also
need two witnesses, if foreigners, they will need their
passports* for identification. If they are from the
Dominican Republic, a Dominican I.D. will suffice.
You can copy/ paste the following sample and complete it with your own information. One for each (Bride and groom) and notarize it, please, by Public Notary or Commissioner of Oaths:

Couples need
to send to our office, with their documentation, COPIES
OF THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATES, YOU DO NOT NEED TO SEND
YOUR PASSPORTS. Please contact our office for fees.

Once you received your Marriage Certificate from your Hotel in the
Dominican Republic, you need to send a photocopy (front and back) to us to
be legally issued in English, and certified by the Dominican Consulate.
Please include a self stamped/addressed envelope and a Money Order for
US$85.00.
